It began with a question about honey.

One day, Ayden told me he had eaten pollen to see whether he could make honey. Then came the questions. What if every bee in the world died? Why are there good worms and bad worms? What do worms do? What would happen if ants disappeared?

On the way home from school, Aysha had a question of her own: why were the clouds following us?

My children ask so many questions. As a busy parent, I know how easy it can be to brush one aside, or to want to answer properly and struggle to find the words.

Those conversations made me realise that I wanted to give their questions the serious explanations they deserved. I also came to believe that children are never too small to learn big words. We just need to help them understand what those words mean.

That is the story behind Ayden and Aysha Discover the World, a collection of 25 books from Little Life Skills Academy.
